Halloween Witch Cookies are great for an afternoon pick-me-up or you can take them to school for class parties. There is plenty to go around.

Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 cup salted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup milk
- 36 Hershey kisses
- buttercream icing of your choice
Instructions
halloween-witch-cookies Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl combine the first four ingredients and mix. In a large bowl combine the butter and sugar and whisk until creamy about 5 minutes. Beat the egg into the sugar/butter mixture and then add vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture and then the milk. Scoop up the dough mixture with an ice cream scoop or spoon. Roll it around in the palm of your hands and then flatten just a bit. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 1 inch apart. Bake in the oven for 9-10 minutes and then remove to cool. After cookies are cool add a dollop of buttercream icing to the center. Using a Hershey kiss mash down slightly on the buttercream icing to create the witches hat cookie.
